Here’s how long Sideshow Bob has wanted to kill Bart Simpson. Ever since Sideshow Bob framed Krusty the Clown for armed robbery back in 1990 and Bart busted him, it’s been Bob’s mission ever since to kill the spike haired hellraiser of The Simpson clan. On Sunday’s ‘Treehouse Of Horror’ episode, Sideshow Bob will finally get his wish. But, like any episode of The Simpsons, there’s a bit of exposition to deal with.

According to showrunner Al Jean, “We deal with how Bob would really feel once he accomplished this goal he’s had his whole life.”

Here’s the thing. A “Treehouse Of Horror” episode isn’t canon. It’s more like a fun one-off and they’ve given us so many classic episodes such as Krang & Kodos replacing Bob Dole & Bill Clinton for the 1996 Presidential Election or parodies of The Shining and more. I mean, we’re talking about a show that gave us Darryl Strawberry as the lone competent ringer for a competitive baseball game only to be replaced by Homer Simpson.
