What should have been a joyous occasion at Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center in Atlanta on Friday night turned sour for Scarface. The rapper, born Brad Jordan was arrested after being awarded the I Am Hip-Hop Award at the 2015 BET Hip-Hop Awards.

Jordan had just exited the stage when he was met by police officers near the celebrity trailer area who had a warrant for unpaid child support and that the rapper was not given clearance to leave the state of Texas for the event.

Per a story by entertainment blogger and photographer Freddy O, ‘Face risked arrest just so he could accept the honor in front of his peers and admirers for over 25 years of service to the genre at large. Scarface’s woes with child support have been well documented. In 2010 he was arrested on four separate charges of unpaid child support, resulting in his incarceration for nearly a year.
