The NBA is a league of stars for a myriad of reasons. Memphis Grizzlies forward Matt Barnes is a star solely for being an antagonizer and one of the few guys who will provoke headlines for doing just that. Derek Fisher was formerly a star in the league who won five NBA titles and arguably owns the second greatest shot against the San Antonio Spurs. On Saturday, Barnes’ antics were upped even more when he reportedly drove to Los Angeles to fight New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher on the account that Fisher was dating Barnes’ ex-wife Gloria Govan … and was at Govan’s house for a bonfire.

Per New York Post

The source added, “Barnes was in Santa Barbara [at Memphis Grizzlies training camp] and heard that Fisher was in his house. He went crazy. He got in his car and went to the house and went after Fisher.”

Another source said, “Someone told Matt that Fisher was at the house and he drove down there — he went over to confront Derek.”

A source close to Fisher confirmed the fight but said, “Matt came after Derek but he only had a few scratches … Derek’s not going to press charges, he’s going to let it go.”

Fisher left the scene before cops arrived, and we hear that Govan’s planning to file a restraining order.

Fisher divorced his wife earlier this year in March. Govan and Barnes separated and filed for divorce in September 2014. Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed the report and stated that NBA security had learned of the incident today. He additionally reported that the fight between Barnes & Fisher played out like a Falls Count Anywhere match in the WWE.

Barnes found Fisher in the backyard with Gloria and family members, and the altercation escalated from there, into the kitchen and then the home’s front room, one witness said.

The story of course has not only made the rounds arounds ESPN and other sports websites but has become one of the major highlight for jokes on Twitter. The best jokes can usually be found with a mere search and considering that Fisher mised Knicks practice yesterday, it’s even funnier.
