Bryson Tiller - Exchange

If you don’t know who Bryson Tiller is, you’re about to find out. The young R&B upstart and Kentucky native has stolen ears and hearts over the last few months by way of his soundcloud (especially fan favorite “Don’t”) and live performances. Now, as Louisville’s own prepares to drop his debut album TRAPSOUL next month, Tiller is whetting the aural appetites of both current fans and those seeking another solid R&B offering for the year with “Exchange,” the first official single from TRAPSOUL.

“Exchange” does its very best to live up to the combination of trap and soul, with tinkling synths and soft drums keeping a pulse-like pace in the background on the instrumental front. Tiller himself effortlessly provides the “soul,” merging yearning and desperation in his pleas – “do one favor for me,”, Tiller croons, “give me all of you, in exchange for me” – to the girl who has his attention and launching into a mini-rap in the song’s final minute. It’s slow burning and sexy, and a must-add to your Cuffing Season playlist.

Bryson Tiller’s debut LP TRAPSOUL, on which “Exchange” appears, touches down October 2nd; though fans of the singer can pre-order the album now on iTunes.
