To say Jill Scott is back would be a stretch as we’ve witnessed the evolution from West Philly girl to International superstar who has blessed music fans for a span of fifteen years; her meek yet sultry lyrics have been the recipe for love and intimacy.

Last month Jill teased fans with her new single “Fools Gold” which is set to be included on her upcoming project entitled, Woman. The July 24th release will be a celebration and culmination of Jill’s music career dating back to her debut album, Who is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol.1 in which reflecting back was a classic ahead of its time.

In preparation for her fifth studio album Jill tapped writer/producer, Dre Harris who was responsible for the magic in creating standout tracks like “A Long Walk” and “Do You Remember” from earlier in her career. One can expect that the straightforward title Woman Jill’s first album since 2011’s The Light of the Sun will be an honest depiction of Jill’s life as an entertainer, mother, and woman overcoming the challenges of love and life.

Over the years Jill has embraced her womanhood revealing the ups and downs of past relationships through her art, “Fool’s Gold” picks up right where she left off—— “Either I’m stupid, I’m foolish, or you’re playing me
But it seems we were never really meant to be.” To top it all off Jill will be hitting the road this summer for a 25-city tour.

Fortunately, the tour will make its stop in Houston on August 12th where devoted fans will have a chance to see the songstress up close and personal at the Bayou Music Center where tickets can be purchased through missjillscott.com.
