In the last decade, the city of Houston had become one that many music industry executives looked past when it came to finding new talent. But with the recent, steady buzz returning to the H with local acts like Travis $cott, Kyndall, and Wash getting signed by majors, the industry is finally giving attention to the crop of emerging artists in H-Town. Opportunities don’t come knocking very often for independent acts, so when something like The Deal Makers’ Conference comes to town, it’s kind of a big deal.

The Deal Makers’ Conference has selected Houston to be its fourth stop later this month. The brainchild of New York-based talent branding and lifestyle company The Ravenel Agency, The Deal Makers’ Conference presents an opportunity for Houston’s up-and-coming talent to meet, network with, and perform for a number of the music industry’s most notable names in A&R, Marketing, and Multimedia. The Conference is set to take place at the swanky Hotel Derek on June 13th. Confirmed industry vets that will be on hand to share their knowledge and wisdom within in the industry include Vice President of Roc Nation Lenny Santiago; Eric Parler, Vice-President of Def Jam Records’ Lifestyle & Radio Promotions; Maybach Music Group VP Young Sav; and the president of CTE Entertainment, Steve Carless, to name a few.

Over the course of the conference, attendees will be exposed to a panel discussion, workshop, and talent showcase, at which artists will be provided the tools needed for them to be commercially viable and successful in the music business. As well, The Deal Makers’ Conference will also introduce artists to strategies that can help them leverage their branding power, thanks in part to media panel that will include the likes of MTV’s Yomi Desalu, Love & Hip Hop producer Mari Lopez, and film producer Monica “Dollphace” Floyd.

The Deal Makers’ Conference will be hosted by Rose D from and Houston native DJ Kiotti of 97.9 The Box (who is himself no stranger to providing a platform for unsigned local acts through his monthly “I Wanna Be Rich” showcase). Registration for the Deal Makers’ Conference is open now at
