“Something new happens every show, I don’t have a script and that’s why people come.”  Action Bronson told Rolling Stone Magazine in March.

New York native Action Bronson is no stranger to attention or controversy. Yet nothing seems to phase him. Case in point, Bronson’s Mr. Wonderful World Tour flyer, a homage to the classic film Coming to America that features a cartoon depiction of Bronson standing atop a retro limousine turned speedboat passing the McDowell’s golden arcs and a Soul-Glo advertisement, arms spread wide as he floats down a flooded street.

That should be reason enough to check out Action Bronson’s Mr. Wonderful World Tour featuring Meyhem Lauren this Sunday as it stops at Houston’s House of Blues.

Action Bronson’s luxurious, velvet-esque rap style has progressed from his mixtape days, presumably due to his experimental nature. Bronson’s second studio album Mr. Wonderful is not only the catalyst for what has proven to be a successful tour, it is a shining testament to where Bronson is as an artist and an inclination to where his career is going. Boasting production by Mark Ronson, Statik Selektah, The Alchemist, Noah “40” Shebib, Omen, Oh No and Party Supplies as well as features from Body Bes, Mayhem Lauren, Chauncy Sherod, Chance the Rapper and more, Mr. Wonderful was received positively by music critics and listeners alike, debuting at #7 on the Billboard 200 and reaching the third highest album sales in the U.S. the week it was released. Not to mention, it is chalk full of comedy and relays the message that it’s ok to have fun and not be so serious all the time. All that being said, Bronson showcases his lyrical ability and out of this world personality in every second of Mr. Wonderful.

With an eventful first half of 2015 comprised of music festival appearances (including Coachella), the release of  Mr. Wonderful, and the start of his current, exhausting 6 month tour schedule; Bronson’s stop in Houston comes close to the end of it’s U.S. leg. After nearly 30 shows everywhere from Seattle to Miami, the Mr. Wonderful World Tour takes off to Canada and Europe next month.

As Action Bronson along with fellow Smart Crew member and co-creator Meyhem Lauren bring their New York aura to Houston via The Mr. Wonderful World Tour one thing is for sure, there will be no lack of excitement. Besides his reputation as a rapping culinary genius, Bronson has a history of putting on one of kind performances. Somewhere between sheer rock and roll pandemonium and stoner heaven, you find Action Bronson on stage. And sometimes in the crowd. The list of outlandish happenings at his shows consists of giving away thousands of dollars worth of electronics including televisions, game consoles and iPads, smoking joints from concert goers, clothes-lining a fan (with love, of course), stealing golf carts and plenty more. Whether you are a long time fan of Bam Bam or a curious newcomer to his art, stop by House of Blues this Sunday, you never know what will happen.
