sol for souls

Too often we take the luxury of having quality shoes to wear for granted. In reality, being able to afford necessities, in this case shoes, is something that effects a number of students in our community. In the spirit of giving back, Houston artist and Alief alum Sun has coordinated a shoe drive to benefit the students of Crossroads, Hastings, Elsik and Alief Taylor high schools.

Sun along with the support of councilman Richard Nguyen, Big Momma’s Krazy Kajun Catering, Jumpman Retro, Star Construction and more in coordination with My Brother’s Keeper Outreach Center and Alief Independent School District have spent weeks collecting shoes to provide to high school students in the Alief school district. This evening from 6PM – 8PM, Sun and his team will be distributing the shoes at Crossroads which is located between Elsik and Hastings High Schools, 12360 Bear Ram Rd, Houston, TX 77072. Feel free to bring any new or gently worn athletic shoes to donate, please make sure they are either in boxes or stacked into large containers.

Come out and help make a difference in our local communities. Also, keep checking back for additional charity and community focused events from Sun and more.
