Stream Jamie Foxx’s ‘Hollywood: A Story of Dozen Roses’ Album Guilt-Free [@iamjamiefoxx] Bradford J. Howard May 21, 2015 Album Streams, Music At long last, Jamie Foxx’s fifth studio album, Hollywood: A Story of Dozen Roses, was released this past Tuesday. For some who may worry that Foxx has lost his edge, you’re in luck – the actor/singer-songwriter has partnered with Spotify to post up a free stream of the album’s deluxe version on the Internets. Propelled forward by the Chris Brown-assisted single “You Changed Me” and “Baby’s in Love” with Kid Ink, Hollywood on surface seems to be the perfect soundtrack for those hot summer nights. The LP’s eighteen tracks are a mix of slow jams (the Wale-featured “Like A Drum” is still getting plenty of play, and “Vegas Confessions” isn’t a bad listen, either) and dance grooves (like the Michael Jackson-inspired “Tease,” which bears a nice feature from Pharrell, and “Right Now,” which sounds like “Blame It” lite but so much better than “Party Ain’t A Party”). While on first listen, the album falls prey to sounding repetitive on some back-to-back tracks, but that shouldn’t stop you from giving it a spin or two.
