First Look: Jesse Eisenberg Makes A Badass Lex Luthor In ‘Batman v. Superman’ Brandon Caldwell March 25, 2015 Comics, News, TV/Movies Superman’s greatest villain has a brand new look. In this newly released shot from DC Comics, this is how Jesse Eisenberg will look when he portrays Lex Luthor in the upcoming Batman v. Superman movie. Since he was announced as Luthor last January, the casting of Eisenberg has been hit with mixed reviews, mainly because most DC fanboys wanted Bryan Cranston to don the bald head and bring a little Walter White version of Lex to Metropolis. Instead, the role went to Eisenberg who was lauded as pusedo-villain Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. The photo, provided by Entertainment Weekly also comes with a few quotes from Batman v. Superman director Zack Snyder who reveals that Eisenberg’s Lex will differ from that of Gene Hackman’s Lex in the original Superman films or Kevin Spacey’s turn in the 2006 reboot, Superman Returns. “He’s not any of the Lexes that you’ve seen, that’s for sure,” Snyder told EW, “other than him being a captain of industry and one person to the world and another person to himself. And bald, of course.” He continued. “Our Lex is disarming and he’s not fake…He says what he believes and he says what’s on his mind. If you can unravel the string and decipher what he means, it’s all there.” Batman V. Superman arrives in theaters next summer.
