Little League World Series

Add an upcoming biopic to the list of things that make Mo’Ne Davis so freakin’ awesome.

Don’t worry, people – Lifetime thankfully isn’t directing this one. It was instead The Disney Channel that announced plans to make a movie about the female Little League pitcher who turned plenty of heads leading the Taney Dragons of Philadelphia to the pennant. According to Variety, the film will be entitled “Throw Like Mo’.” Sheldon Candis and Justin Wilson have been tapped to handle the script for the project, while Debra Martin-Chase will serve as the film’s producer.

The concept alone seems promising enough. Mo’Ne Davis’s story is not only inspiring by itself, but if you remember the many classic Disney Channel made-for-TV sports-related movies, then there’s more than a little hope that Mo’Ne’s movie might be something exciting to watch. There’s no word yet on a release date or an official trailer, but expect “Throw Like Mo'” to arrive sometime later this year.
