A road trip is usually one of the best means to be put onto new music. Since I was spending time being enriched on new age soul acts, the main group that came into my sphere was Melbourne’s Haitus Kaiyote. Thank Spotify for plenty of tracks to fall for such as “Molasses” & “Laputa”. Now in lieu of their upcoming new album Choose Your Weapon (out May 5th), the band drops “Breathing Underwater”.

Frontwoman Nai Palm describes the track as a musical tribute to her hero Stevie Wonder. The FADER premiere mixes plenty of sounds, snaking its way in a beautiful fusion of slow jazz, smoldering R&B and soul. You can listen to the track here. Haitus Kaiyote will be touring the US in the coming weeks, starting with SXSW and plenty more dates which you can check out down below.
