By now most of the world is familiar with the wise cracking mercenary Wade Wilson a.k.a “Deadpool.” The character made his theatrical debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Now for most of the MCU audience we tend to not speak of this film and it’s disrespectful interpretation of Deadpool. Without getting into much detail we didn’t expect to see Deadpool return to the cinematic screen or Ryan Reynolds to portray the wise cracking mercenary again. After much protest and some awesome test footage that hit the Internet with force 2016’s Deadpool is in full effect and has began production.

It’s going to take a lot of work to redeem the credibility for the Merc with the Mouth. The film is already taking steps to win back their audience by giving us a taste of something we did not see in the previous film: A mask. Thanks to Reynolds we finally get the opportunity.

Taking to twitter Reynolds gave us a preview of the mask that will be used in the solo film. Also answering our questions that Deadpool will be in his full tactical gear and will not spare the wise cracks. The hashtags are suggesting that the mask in the photo is a prototype  to what the final rendering will be. Reynolds openly joked that the mask is ballerina pink with the sepia tone used in the image and Reynolds wild antics, it couldn’t be so far fetched to see Reynolds decked in all pink and kicking ass. But the film’s production company has already confirmed that they are sticking to the source material, so naturally we can expect to see the shade of red that we are use t seeing on Deadpool.

The image is slightly dark, thanks to fans we have found a lighten image to get a better look of the Deadpool mask:

Not only did Reynolds surprise us with the prototype mask, but we have also found confirmation that actress Gina Carano has joined the cast. No word yet on the details of Carano’s involvement and character that she might betray, but this is an excellent asset to the film.

Gina Carano from the film Haywire

Gina Carano is known for butting kick choreography, her stunt skills, but her experience as an actress is small. Even though she hasn’t performed in many films outside of a stuntwoman, her experience was quite noticeable. She wowed critics with her performance in Haywire and was a valuable asset performing a mole in the Fast and Furious 6 film. Carano added to the cast is a smart move in her career both for facial recognition to a new audience and staying the realm that she can thrive in. I look forward to seeing her go toe to toe with Deadpool and others in this film.

Deapool will be the first of three X-Men movies, and will be followed by X-men Apocalypse, and the Gambit film staring Channing Tatum in October.

For those that are not familiar with the details of Deadpool, the mercenary wears the mask due the disfigurement of his face. Most filmmakers are not to keen on the star of the film wearing a mask throughout the entire film. This of course will be the only exception and can be fair due to his wise cracking remarks that will be hear throughout the film.  I’m hoping that the film will at least allow him to enjoy eating his chimichangas.
