It seems like the world is addictive to the sounds of Toronto. Newcomer and self-proclaimed preacher’s son Daniel Caesar released his Praise Break EP last October and one of the more beautiful cuts, “Chevalier” gets slowed to an even more despondent and melancholy crawl thanks to Toronto’s HMLT. Breaking in far more pianos and claps, HMLT’s version of “Chevalier” sounds like a breakup, an end where you’re left holding roses and wondering where it all went wrong.
