By now you should know that Marvel is rebooting the Fantastic Four franchise. Gone is Jessica Alba as Sue Storm & Chris Evans as her brother Johnny. There’s no Michael Chiklis as Ben Grimm. What we have now is a modern cast that’s youthful and ready to do things. Like, wait a second — why is the Human Torch Michael B. Jordan? Do they not know that Michael B. Jordan has died in three of the four major things he was attached to? He may die in his first Marvel movie! (Oh, you thought I was going to go with the whole black thing? Ha! Go to bed.)

Anyway, the Fantastic Four trailer is about as easy-bake-oven Marvel as it gets. Menacing voice-over with hope and intrigue, flashes of main characters but no real definition of their intentions or backstory, things that were a little bit better than Ant-Man a few weeks ago but still, we know what Marvel’s doing for Fantastic Four — living up to a format they’ve all but perfected to get your money.

Fantastic Four, starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan & Jamie Bell hits theaters this August.
