As expected the feud between Lil Wayne & Birdman has escalated to the courts with TMZ reporting that Tune is taking his label boss to see a judge over an unpaid advance from this upcoming album and to also to free him from his contract so he can release Tha Carter V. The total amount of the unpaid advance? $8 million.

It’s been long hip-hop rumor and back page discussion in regards to the rather unsavory dealings Cash Money has been accused of in the past. Now those secrets and rumors may be given more light in a court of law. Wayne, his manager Cortez Bryant and Young Money president Mack Maine have all expressed their displeasure with the label situation, Wayne especially who took plenty of shots at Birdman on Sorry 4 The Wait 2. Birdman hasn’t publicly responded to Wayne’s missives but he’s said to have been pretty pissed seeing all of this aired out in public.

Many have already voiced their own personal displeasure with Cash Money over unpaid monies owed from producers to artists alike. The longest, most successful record label in the history of Southern hip-hop is breaking up at the seams. A sad day if you’ve ever jammed “Birdman Jr.” repeatedly since 2004.
