From San Luis Obispo, CA, formerly known as PK, rock band Night Riots has released their second EP, Howl, following 2013’s Young Lore EP. Howl features their catchy single, Contagious, but that’s not the only song you’ll be rocking out to.

From Left: Rico Rodriguez, Nick Fotinakes, Travis Hawley, Matt DePauw, and Mikel Van Kranenburg.

When they signed onto Sumerian Records back in November, they knew they wanted to make their new music bigger and better. From Alternative Press Magazine, frontman, Travis Hawley had this to say:

“We wrote Howl during off weeks while touring our Young Lore EP in the Spring and Summer of 2014. We escaped and hid away at Palmquist Studios with producer Eric Palmquist (Bad Suns, Trash Talk, Waaves, Mars Volta) driving out our demons, exploring them and channeling the stories into our music. We pushed ourselves harder than we ever have before to break free of any creative boxes we had surrounded ourselves with in the past. What we came up with were songs written for the night. They are songs for driving at dusk through the desert or for lightless back roads with the moon coming through the trees.  They are stories of life’s yearning and acceptance along with the duality of life… that without darkness there is no light.”

From the first track, Oh My Heart, to the creepy but catchy, Follow You, every single song off this EP is worth listening to. If you haven’t heard of Night Riots, you are now. Keep an eye out for them as they are currently doing an acoustic tour promoting the EP. Available now.
