Chipotle Is Giving You Free Food On January 26th Brandon Caldwell January 9, 2015 Food, News This may be the simplest headline you may ever see this year. News so great you call your friends and tell them to mark their calendars. Free Chipotle is soon to enter your life. There’s a catch though (there’s always one, isn’t there?) and it involves the newest item on the Chipotle menu. Back in November, the company introduced a Sofrita, a vegan based item whose name is derived from a popular cooking base used for stews, rice, and beans in Spanish and Latin American culture. It’s made of organic, non-GMO tofu braised with chipotle chiles, roasted poblano peppers, and a blend of aromatic spices. Sounds good right? Well Chipotle really wants you to try their new Sofritas. So much so that the incentive is that if you buy any sofritas burrito bowl, burrito, salad or order of tacos on January 26th, Chipotle will give you a “bounce back”, letting you select any meat based entree item on the menu from burrito bowl to taco to burrito, for free on any date from January 27th to February 28th. Now you can really say, “I know guac is extra!” like a boss. Or a boss who understands the Sofritas challenge only can lead to greater things down the road.
