Jodeci once taught us about “The Show, The Hotel & The Afterparty”. Jack Freeman, as velvet as his vocals have been in recent memory isn’t one to hang around in the hotel lobby for too long. Especially if his lady is ready to call it a night with the both of them in bed. “Afterparty” features Freeman teaming with frequent collaborator Easy Yves Saint for another form of two-step, one where Chris Rockaway’s little drummer boy like drum programming leads to shimmering atmospherics and Freeman taking up H-Town and his lady at the same time. “Grippin’ grain under city lights … she might make love to some Screw tonight.” Yves is in the same groove, looking at his lady and comparing her allure to certain officials in Washington, from Michelle in the real world to Kerry Washington in the fictional one.
