The Suicide Squad has already stacked the deck with a cast of A-listers. But David Ayer is living under the mentality to go big or go home with this recent rumor. It turns out that the film is looking to land a big fish in the casting for the director of the team Amanda Waller. And right now the queen of television Oprah Winfrey is in their top candidates for this role.

For those that are not familiar with this character, Amanda Waller can be described as having a Nick Fury-esque role in the proceedings, as it is she who is in charge of selecting the individuals who will risk their lives as Suicide Squad members. This would obviously provide her with plenty to do in the movie, which would go far in explaining why Warner Bros. and DC Comics are targeting such top tier talent.

For those unfamiliar with this comic book series, Suicide Squad follows a group of incarcerated criminals who are given an opportunity to reduce their individual sentences by performing incredibly dangerous  missions for the government. While the plot has yet to be released, it’s been confirmed that Will Smith will play Deadshot Jared Leto will play The Joker, Tom Hardy will play Rick Flag, Margot Robbie will play Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney will play Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne will play Enchantress.

Suicide Squad will hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
