Since the release of X-Men: First Class, The Franchise has made up for the few films that I dare not mention. The experiment to see if the character can maintain with a solo film such as the Wolverine franchise has showed promise. And with the Wolverine’s success in the box office it has given 20th Century Fox enough courage to continue on as another character from the X-men roster is getting their own movie. Fox has recruited Robocop reboot writer Josh Zetumer to forge a script for the Gambit spinoff Staring Channing Tatum. Tatum will also be producing the film, and after the details given to us about the exciting development that Channing is taking to work on the character I have no doubt he will apply that to the film production.

Gambit is also the newest entry in the X-men franchise along with a solo Dead Pool film, X-Men: Apocalypse, a third Wolverine installment, and X-Force. For those wondering why there is such a interest in this character making its way to the big screen Gambit has been a prominent member of the X-Men since the 90’s. He has the ability to charge objects with kinetic energy which causes the object to explode upon impact. His signature objects are a deck of playing cards and a staff, not to mention the enhance physical abilities him can give himself temporarily.

When the news was first mentioned that Gambit would be revised back into the film franchise, it would take place in X-Men: Apocalypse. But since Tatum is a big enough star Fox might decide to make the solo film is debut.  I think it would be better to include Gambit in the upcoming X-Men film so that fans can get a preview of Tatum’s work and give them the incentive to wanna see him in a solo film. The film is set for 2016 release and is slated to take place in the early 1980’s, several years after Origins, where we lat saw Gambit. Seeing as how X-Men: Apocalypse will also take place in the 80’s, maybe Gambit can be introduced as one of Apocalypse infamous Four Horsemen. May 20th Century will consider it after reading this.
