You’re just going to have to wait a little longer to cry sad tears to new music from Adele.

After teasing fans with a cryptic message back in May following her 26th birthday, the Grammy and Oscar winner’s label XL announced that there would be no new Adele album and that fans of the UK singer would have to wait until next year.

“There will not be a further new release by Adele during 2014 and consequently there will be a fall in XL’s turnover and profits. Nevertheless, the directors are confident that by pursuing management policies…XL will continue to achieve success with other artists,” the label remarked in a recent article published by The New York Times.

Adele’s last release, 21 has sold over 25 million copies worldwide and while the void of downtrodden and sort of heartbroken UK R&B and pop has been taken by Sam Smith at the moment, you can imagine the number of fans across the globe who wanted to close out their year with new music from Adele.
