run-the-jewels

A world where Killer Mike is vocal and astute in his findings about the world is a world we need pay more attention to. He penned an op-ed letter to Billboard about the layered problems in Ferguson, Missouri and then appeared on CNN to expound on those same sentiments. Now Mike has his attention fully set on making one of 2013’s prideful hip-hop moments even better as he and El-P return as Run The Jewels for “Blockbuster Night Part 1”.

Remember Lupe Fiasco’s robot from the “Daydream” video? Well imagine that beast on his last gasps and El-P adding a murderous slice of drum programming as he and Mike go back and forth. Much like the first Run The Jewels album, RTJ2 will be released for free, this time via Mass Appeal Records. The album is set to feature the likes of Rage Against The Machine’s Zach De La Rocha and Travis Barker though many more could show up to offer their two cents. Hear “Blockbuster Night Part 1” below as well as watch Mike’s recent appearance on CNN.
