Last night, Vince Staples shook up the world with his own dash of blue suede anarchy. Through high wired guitar wails, “Blue Suede” puts the Long Beach rapper in territory he’s quite familiar with – solo dolo and in a structured and intriguing narrative. Staples has already had a very solid 2014 from the March release of his Shyne Coldchain Vol. 2 mixtape to his feature work with Common, Jhené Aiko & Cutthroat Boyz family member Joey Fatts. “Blue Suede” on the other hand represents the lead single from his upcoming Hell Can Wait Def Jam debut album due out in September.

Hagler Tyrant adds to the chaos with his guitar and drum heavy production for Staples to flex some California muscle and confidence. He’s sneering, boastful and proud, all of the ingredients thought to be included for a rapper ready to make a commercial launching point. Stream “Blue Suede” below and cop it on iTunes.
