Miranda Gil - My Turn_cover

You may remember a few months back when Day & A Dream broke ground on Miranda Gil, an emerging Texas songbird whose “My Turn” single pleasantly surprised our ears. It turns out that Gil’s debut album, also entitled My Turn and created in collaboration with Action Figures Music Studios, is slated to officially arrive next month; but before it does, Austin’s own “#MissPOPportunity” is giving listeners a chance to preview the full LP for free.

At only 20 years old, the Latin songbird seems clearly well-versed in crafting the kind of music that’s potent with replay value. “Wanna Love You,” with its EDM-tinged pulsating beat, and album closer “Afraid of the Dark,” are practically made for the dance clubs down Sixth Street; and Gil’s lovely voice flourishes on the LP’s ballads, especially the two-hit-combo of “Miranda Writes” followed by “Foolish.” It certainly doesn’t hurt that Action Figures Music – the duo of producer Shawn Dell and songwriter Brandon “Gutta AAE” Williams that were responsible for Gil’s “My Turn” single – handle all of the album’s production, allowing for a diverse set of fresh sounds throughout the LP’s twelve tracks.
