Keeping my patience in tact for August 1st has been a challenging one. Even with the release of several version of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy  trailers still have me craving for more information. Being a devoted fan to this series my mind only wonders, who would be the Villainous leads to first make their way to the big screen? As mentioned in the trailers, just who are these people that threaten billions and billions of people? Lucky for myself and other fans we no longer have to keep banging our head on the plaster trying to figure out. With the help of Empire Magazine’s latest printed issue we can say hello to our lead Villains as they conquer the cover now on newsstands everywhere.

Now for all of you who are not familiar with this epic series and still wondering, who the heck are these folks? Never fear as I will take the time to fill you in on the awesomeness that has be dropped on us.

For you big Doctor Who fans you may not recognize the gorgeous Karen Gillan as she portrays Nebula. In search of the aforementioned orb along side Ronan and Korath, their is also a personal conflict that will likely surface in the film. Nebula has a score to settle with one of the Guardian in particular, namely Gamora (Zoe Saldana). Before a change in allegiances these two were like sister making sure that their back were covered by one another.

Korath The Pursuer

Who knew Academy Award-nominee Djimon Hounsou could pull off the alien look so well (no pun intended) as he portrays Korath The Pursuer. Now most of you seen Djimon in the trailer holding Star Lord (Chris Pratt) at gun point. Get use to see him on the heels of the Guardians throughout the film. A member of the Kree, an alien race of expert hunters with superhuman abilities gives them quite the success in their field. With Korath’s ability to trace brain patterns and locate individuals psionically, will makes him quite the threat when it comes to defending the galaxy for the Guardians.

Standing as the main villain is Ronan The Accuser portrayed by Lee Pace. With his sights set on the titular team, as they have taken possession of a orb that he covets, we will get to see the serious power from this character as you can see above demonstrating his energy manipulation. He also welds a massive hammer, which will sure to be in much play during the film.

The one Villain that did not grace the cover is the Puppet Master who is holding the strings Thanos (who will be voiced by Josh Brolin). The Avatar of Death, who was first sighted in the easter egg end credits of  The Avengers won’t play a huge physical role in the film, but it is a sure bet that his hand will be deeply submerged in this plot.

And For those that are still rooting for just the good guys, The Empire has made this issue a dual cover. For your viewing pleasure below. Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters August 1st
