Female DJs. When you glance upon the phrase your body jerks and moves towards “celebrity”, “Serrato” and other quasi-disrespectful terms. Doing so however masks you to the fact that there are plenty of women who get busy behind the boards and on the wheels of steel. From Houston’s own DJ Supastar, former jock now turned KDAY fave Brandi Garcia & Jasmine Solano, the identity of the female DJ is stronger than ever and one of those women at the forefront is DJ EQue.

The former Texas Southern Tiger and now Los Angeles resident has overcome plenty of questions about being “too pretty” to DJ as if it were a hindrance. Yet her time in music, whether on air with KBXX 97.9 The Box, getting the party going in 50 Cent’s now classic “Wanksta” video or travelling the country can’t be looked over. She’s a veteran, a party rocker and by far a bombshell who’s deadly with a mixer in hand.

EQue will be spinning at DJ Supastar’s newly minted Supastar Spin Academy on Friday, June 13th. While everyone may be trying to fight their way into Warehouse Live for Houston Appreciation, seeing an industry heavyweight set a party off may be the least risky decision you make all night.

Ed. note: The Day & A Dream staff would like to offer their condolences to DJ EQue in her time of bereavement.
