Rihanna’s quietly disappeared Instagram isn’t the only major news the singer’s making today. A scan of the Roc Nation website turned in a rather intriguing discovery. The singer’s name wasn’t just attached to the management section of the company, she was listed under artist as well.

The history between Rihanna and Roc Nation label head Jay Z is well documented as it was Jay who signed the Barbadian singer back in 2005 when she was 17. Since her debut album Music Of The Sun all the way up to 2012’s Unapologetic, each of her 7 albums have been released via Def Jam. That’s soon to come to an end as she’s been shuffled over to Def Jam’s “Legacy” page per their official website.

In April, Universal Music Group dissolved IDJMG (Island Def Jam Music Group) into three separate labels: Island, Def Jam & Motown. As a result, Def Jam returned to being a stand alone hip-hop label with Kyambo “Hip-Hop” Joshua and No I.D. serving in executive vice president and head of A&R role respectively.

The Def Jam roster still includes other associated acts such as Kanye West, Nas, YG, 2 Chainz & Big Sean but Rihanna’s addition to RN makes them even stronger as she joins the likes Calvin Harris, J.Cole, DJ Mustard, Rita Ora, Jay Electronica and Jay Z himself as artists on the label.
