To celebrate his 41st birthday, Pharrell Williams took the ‘SNL’ stage for the first time in eight years to not only bust out more of his Adidas gear since his new partnership with the brand but to perform “Happy” and “Marilyn Monroe” from his recently released G I R L album. With a live band and break dancers behind him, Williams’ spirited quasi-gospel song tore the house down. Later during his performance of “Marilyn Monroe”, Hanz Zimmer conducted a string orchestra in the background while Pharrell hit his now trademark falsetto.

Williams and Zimmer will team up once more for the score to The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and the “Happy” singer will be hitting the road later this month, touring with Bruno Mars and a noted performance slot at Coachella.
