Drake - Draft Day

“Draft Day, A. Wiggins/ F*ck that other side, b*tch – we stay winnin’!”

By now, we’re all too familiar with the friendship that has materialized between one Aubrey Drake Graham and a certain Texas A&M quarterback who is all but expected to get picked up by an NFL franchise next month by the name of Johnny Manziel. Drake and Johnny Football have become best buds over the last two years and, in celebration and tribute to his good friend’s upcoming big day – and thankfully not as a title track for the upcoming Arian Foster-featured motion picture – Drake let loose a freebie on Twitter entitled, fittingly, “Draft Day.”

Padded with references to the Kansas freshman basketball phenom and to Drake’s own ascension in the rap game – yes, it really HAS been five years since So Far Gone touched down in our ears for the first time – and loaded with quotables that Twitter will have killed before we even get to Friday and shots at Chance the Rapper and Jay-Z, the Boi-1da-produced and Lauryn Hill-sampling “Draft Day” is part sequel to “Trophies” and part extension of “Started from The Bottom,” with Drizzy quite vocal about gossip folks who go hush-mouth in his presence.

Now, the question is, is Manziel going to come out onstage with “Draft Day” playing in the background when he shakes hands with Goodell and dons that official fitted on May 8th? We wouldn’t be surprised if he did, especially since OVO Johnny practically held a concert at his Pro Day.
