Houston’s own Skinny Guy Clothing brand continues to push its principle of “Stay Hungry” by creating innovative marketing strategies to align the brand with the city’s most popular cultural events, brands, and musical talents. Being one of the few within the local streetwear and fashion industry to consistently produce new collections since its origination; The Skinny Guy clothing brand is preparing to release its Spring/Summer 14 line and recently linked up with trip-hop artist Tim Woods for an unforgettable night filled with art, music, and fashion. This past Sunday I got a sneak peek of Skinny Guy’s upcoming release as they hosted a private showcase with sounds from DJ Wall, accompanied with a vibrant collection of artistic pieces placed throughout the inviting space within the Midtown Art Center.

Tim Woods delivered an electrifying yet intimate performance as he entertained the crowd. What was meant to originally be a venue for 75 people, turned into a room of well over 100 music and art lovers alike. The positive energy in the room was a good sign that both gained new fans in the process. Surprisingly enough this showcase was marketed solely to its loyal customer base with no prior promotion on an social networks. After the showcase I got a chance to speak with both creators Woods and Ramirez of Skinny Guy Clothing and there’s talks of another collaboration in the near future. With an upcoming April release titled TBA from Tim Woods there is no telling what these two have up their sleeves in the coming months.
