Coming Attractions: CROWNED (3/2) Queens Support Queens [ @crownedbrunch @KarenCivil @jjonthemic] Monica Jones February 20, 2014 Events, Lifestyle Majority of the images we see in the media and society have fostered negative portrayals of groups of women coming together in social settings. In a collaborative effort to eliminate these stereotypes and encourage female solidarity Sarah Yazdanpanah of Affiliated Clientele, Sandra Aderibigbe of DTR Events, and Gabrielle Deculus of The Carmen Strategy have joined forces to produce a new interactive brunch series called CROWNED, in hopes to empower women from different demographics yet similar fields. More than 50 women in the entertainment, branding, marketing, public relations, and promotions industries will convene on March 2nd to kick off the new society. The reoccuring monthly event provides an opportunity for Houston female entrepreneurs, influencers, and tastemakers to network, learn, and promote their business. CROWNED is invite only and will feature a fully catered brunch in an exclusive and intimate setting which will allow guest to share in each other’s goals and visions. Media maven and cultural influencer, Karen Civil will be the featured guest leading the first interactive forum in which Karen will share her experiences on her road to success. Karen’s resume can be benchmarked by women aspiring to create their own lane in their respected fields. The best element of the Crowned series is its platform to create awareness for various social causes and non-profit organizations. Philanthropist and radio personality Jillian “JJ” Simmons of 97.9 The Box will be honored for her philanthropic efforts through the I’m Me Foundation, which empowers young women through an after school program filled with curriculum that promotes positive social experiences, character building, and life skills. A portion of the proceeds from the event will also benefit the I’m Me Foundation. For more information on how to attend, donate, or sponsor this event contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
