“Devil’s Ecstasy” by Houston producer Sly Drexler attempts to cover a lot of ground in its brief two minute and ten second lifespan. It’s moody, muddling around in light chords and isolated snares with a voice echoing “I grab you something close to me/left with something/see you’re here”. It makes for a dark soundtrack and its angst riddled video, shot by Visionary only helps makes things even more clearer — a soundtrack to either a suicide or an escape from something, whether it be an idea or a mentality, a person no longer wants to be part of.
