According to thev Wall Street Journal, actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead in his Manhattan apartment this morning of an apparent overdose in his bathroom. No further details have been released at this time.

Hoffman was lauded in many of roles for his wide range of character selection. From Lester Bangs in “Almost Famous” to his near perfect encapsulation of Truman Capote, Hoffman was recognized as one of the few actors who where it didn’t matter if he was the lead or a supporting character, he mattered.

The “Boogie Nights” and “Capote” actor was 46 years old.
