Prepare for your NBA All-Star Game to be overrun by sleeved jerseys.

On Thursday, images leaked of the proposed jerseys for this year’s All-Star Game to take place in New Orleans. The jersey features a black background, green typeface, a Fleur-de-lis in honor of the host city of New Orleans and — you guessed it — sleeves. We’re not saying that the NBA should ignore how profitable these jerseys are or how they make their players look like volleyball players running up and down the court but this isn’t like your friends playing a game of shirts versus skins. The players have universally found distaste for them, why the hell are we pushing them anyway?

Other than the sleeves, the overall jersey design seems pretty crisp. The Fleur-de-lis is a nice touch as a background for the numerical placement, the silver logo underneath the back number is a smart idea but the sleeves? Jeez, if that’s the case just let the teams go back to wearing their team’s home/away jerseys like they did in the late ’90s.
