August Alsina - Make It Home (f. Jeezy)

After singing his way into the hearts of women last year and ultimately landing a solid spot on radio with his “I Luv This Sh*t” single and its accompanying remix, August Alsina is poised to toss his name into the conversation of the most anticipated R&B releases of 2014. Alsina’s debut album, Testimony, is on its way in the Spring; and today, August let loose the second official single from the upcoming project, “Make It Home,” featuring Young Jeezy.

The Featherstones are on the boards for “Make It Home,” providing some smooth production in the form of bluesy guitar twangs and a riding beat. It’s the perfect instrumental for August Alsina to get his 90s-R&B-singer on over, hiding some motivational words within the slow jam to change one’s life and bad habits before it’s too late. Even the man known as Jay Jenkins sidesteps his usual gangster for the sentimental, asking honestly in his guest verse, “Would you miss me? Would you walk up to my casket, would you kiss me?”

August Alsina’s debut LP Testimony, on which the Jeezy-assisted “Make It Home” appears, is slated to arrive April 15th.
