After nearly four years inside a Louisiana maximum security prison, Lil Boosie got the best news possible on this week before Christmas — a solid release date.

According to NOLA, Boosie, real name Torrence Hatch is listed within the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections having a release date of August 18th, 2014. However, he will be under supervision for an additional three years.

Boosie’s lengthy jail history has been well documented on the site. He was incarcerated in 2009 on a third-offense marijuana possession charge which carried a sentence of four years when the judge also stated that Hatch had violated probation. He was given an additional eight years after pleading guilty to smuggling drugs into the prison.

In 2012, he avoided a possible death sentence when he was acquitted of the 2009 murder of Terry Boyd. Boyd’s shooter, Michael “Marlo Mike” Louding was sentenced to life in prison without parole for the killing.
