He Got Game: Ray Allen To Rock “Jesus Shuttlesworth” Heat Jersey Brandon Caldwell December 17, 2013 Sports Want to know what to get the Heat fan in your life this Christmas? The jersey above. Via Spike Lee’s Instagram page, the filmmaker revealed that Ray Allen will don the #34 jersey with arguably the most famous nickname in the sport, inspired by Lee’s 1998 film He Got Game which starred Allen as Jesus Shuttlesworth. At least now we know Jesus will have made his way from Big State all the way to the pros — fresh out of Coney Island. Just makes me think of all the nicknames we’ll miss out on when the NBA starts doing these things in the near future. Allen Iverson rocking “The Answer” in Philly, Kevin Garnett rocking “The Big Ticket” in Boston, same for Paul Pierce & “The Truth” in Celtic Green. But don’t be shocked if a LA Nights version Lakers jersey with “Black Mamba” on the back becomes the main thing found in Los Angeles.
