Dear God It Won’t Stop: R.Kelly To Continue ‘Trapped in the Closet’ in 2014 [@rkelly @IFC] Bradford J. Howard December 4, 2013 Music, News, TV/Movies Surely, you were just as shocked as the rest of us that R. Kelly’s “Trapped in the Closet” series expanded to as many as 33 episodes. “Trapped in the Closet” initially began as a five-track sequence on Kells’s 2005 TP-3: Reloaded album, but was then expanded first to ten chapters, and then to 33 after moving on from solely audio to music videos to a full-blown television production. The “Trapped in the Closet” series to this day continues to be broadcast on the IFC cable network. But even as his newest album Black Panties is slated to drop next week, Kells’ is already looking forward, or rather, backward, to his next endeavor. According to allhiphop.com, R. Kelly will partner with the IFC Network again next year to introduce still more chapters in the “Trapped in the Closet” series. And just in case you need a refresher of the sometimes hilarious, sometimes insane, but altogether entertaining mesh of messiness, IFC plans to air a marathon of all 33 existing chapters this weekend, starting at 5:15 PM EST. It’s almost like “Trapped in the Closet” is becoming the Step Up version of ratchet entertainment. Just when you thought it was over and it was safe to come out, nope, it’s back again.
