Next month, Harper, Lance, Mia, Murch, Jordan, and the rest of the gang from the 1999 hit Black romantic comedy-drama The Best Man will reunite on the big screen for its sequel, The Best Man Holiday. While the movie itself won’t land in theaters for weeks, The Best Man Holiday‘s Motion Picture Soundtrack arrives in stores today; and now, thanks to RCA Records, you can stream the album in full before you buy it.

The soundtrack for the original The Best Man still gets plenty of rotation around these parts, as the film was co-scored by The Roots. It was a prelude to the growing careers of many, like Tyrese and Ginuwine (who united first on “Best Man I Can Be” with RL before joining Tank in the current “supergroup” TGT) and Beyonce’ (in one of her first solo tracks on the Marc Nelson-assisted duet “After All is Said and Done”), but also produced many slow-burner bangers like the Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill collab “Turn Your Lights Down Low” and Eric Benet’s “Poetry Girl.”

The sultry lovey-doveyness of the original’s soundtrack doesn’t quite find its way onto The Best Man Holiday’s, which instead is more of an R&B Christmas compilation of sorts, save for the appearance of New Edition’s timeless “Can You Stand the Rain.” Mary J. Blige does her best to pay homage to the Donny Hathaway version of “This Christmas” and emerging Scottish singer Emeli Sande’s “Winter Wonderland” is almost too short to be really enjoyed. It’s not all Christmas covers, however, as the soundtrack also bears original music from R. Kelly, Ne-Yo, Jordin Sparks, Charlie Wilson, and more.
