SXSW 2014

Doughbeezy. Roosh Williams. Killa Kyleon. Propain. Delorean. These names may sound familiar to you if you’re from Houston. They’re also the names of artists you’ll see on deck if you head down to Austin next Spring.

Although we’re still some months away before the annual South By Southwest (SXSW) Music & Entertainment Festival kicks off in Austin in March, the SXSW planning committee has already begun laying ground for the performing acts at the event. Earlier today, the SXSW Committee unveiled the first round of their 2014 artist announcements, boasting performers not only from Texas and the rest of the United States, but also international acts hailing from countries ranging from Australia to Israel. And amongst that listing were all of the above, some of Houston’s most established talent in hip-hop. Other Houston-based musicians noted on the Round One announcement included Robert Ellis, Jonzieeee & The Suffers.

Though this is just the first of many more announcements to come, it’s good to know that Houston hip-hop will definitely be making its mark in the ATX yet again. In case you need to mark your calendar put in that vacation time early, the music festival portion of SXSW takes place March 11-16, 2014.
