Over the past few years we’ve seen the correlation between the hip-hop and visual art communities become more prevalent as the two art forms continue to provide a medium for artistic expressions. The city of Houston has definitely embraced this maturing relationship through a series of events that help to promote the culture and highlight hip-hop’s aesthetic traits. This effort will continue as Ain’t Nobody Fresher presents a hip-hop and art showcase; The Art of Hip-Hop this Saturday, October 12th from 5-8pm at Empire Nightclub (3101 San Jacinto). The purpose of the event is to promote synergy between the two creative arts and provide an environment where artists can freely express themselves. Performances from emerging local hip-hop artist include Q. Guyton and A$E of Ain’t Nobody Fresher, Dice Soho, Shostoppa, Blushhh Music and many more. The event will also feature art work from visual artist Samo of Dinero’s Closet, DoubleLar, and Alexis Rendon. Guest will be treated to sounds courtesy of DJ Young Streetz and eats supplied by Stufferz; while admission for the event is free. For more information contact info@dejavupr.com.
