If we’re talking street tales in Houston then Show is up there with the greats. As many pitfalls and issues the rapper has faced, somehow he’s soldiered on for the sake of his daughter and his own mental well being. On “Never Come Down”, all of those thoughts and emotions begin to billow out. Jail stints, the upward battle about being heard and maybe harder than those, the loss of the mother of his child have all been weighing on him. So in one motion through autotune and thoughts, he lets everything out, getting close to gut wrenching as you can when he ponders about taking his life just to rid himself of all the pitfalls and the pain.

It’s true street music in Houston these days doesn’t get as appreciated, especially coming from guys like Show & to an extent Rob Gullatte. That may finally begin to change in the near future.
