To say this is a welcomed treat for a Tuesday afternoon chock full of new R&B is an understatement. Janelle Monáe’s follow-up to 2010’s The ArchAndroid is now available for streaming. The Electric Lady already has owned airwaves with Monáe’s two singles “Q.U.E.E.N.” with Erykah Badu & “Dance Apocalyptic” earning rave reviews. The LP itself is a marvelous study in Monáe’s musicianship, blending elements of funked out rock, early swing music and operatic R&B sweeps. Oh, and Prince shows up on “Givin Em What They Love”, that should have your attention, right?
