I’ll openly admit to not being a fan of Stalley’s first MMG offering following Lincoln Way Nights. It wasn’t that the touch and feel of that tape and his chemistry with Rashad had made me an invested fan, it was the fact that a lot of stuff on Savage Journey To The American Dream just felt at times forced. Honest Cowboy however feels like Stalley through and through – a varied appropriation of riding music by coming down south with Scarface on “Swangin”, “Cup Inside A Cup” and “Nineteen Eighty7” with ScHoolboy Q. What else makes HC a noted offering? The production list is solid from top to bottom, Block Beattaz, Rashad, DJ Quik, Cardo, S1, Soundtrakk and more. So take time out of your Thursday, load this in the whip and do your civic duty to ride out.
