Last December, a mixture of Houston’s musical underground and more recognizable names joined together in order to, via a private listening event, catch a glimpse of T.I.’s then upcoming Trouble Man release.

This Summer they combined forces once again; only this time for a local hero; as the city’s own Kirko Bangz once again drew the force to Wire Studios.

The festivities started around 9:00pm, as the invited guests all crammed into the studio room to begin the listening of “Progression III”. Notable names inside of the listening session included a who’s who of the Houston hip hop scene. Names included: Bun B, Slim Thug, Lil KeKe, TV Johnny, Just Brittany, Miss Mykie, Le$, Doughbeezy, Propain, Delo and more.

Once everyone was settled inside the studio, Kirko began by letting everyone know that he appreciated everyone for coming and that the new mixtape had something for everyone, and he was not just saying that. The tape began with the amply titled “Already” which was a perfect choice for an intro, the song featured Kirko’s signature melodic sound, with an added lyrical edge to it.

Other top tracks to listen to from the project included: “Shirt By Versace” with French Montana, YG, and GHaze, “What It Do” which featured MMG’s own Wale, the R&B-banger “Rain Down Girl” and the H-Town smash “Cup Up Top Down” which featured Houston mainstays Z-Ro, Paul Wall and Slim Thug.

Overall the evening went well for the LMG crew, not only did they deliver a great evening, but Houston’s shining star, the one and only Kirko Bangz, delivered a great mixtape. Progression 3 comes to the masses on August 12th. Until then, check out the “Cup Up Top Down” video below.
