Drake – Hold On We’re Going Home [@drake @majidalmaskati @Nineteen85]
If every eye in rap is currently set on you for what you pulled off at your own festival, why not keep the fire going? Fresh off of making sure everyone short of Jesus was in attendance at the 4th annual OVO Fest, Drake releases a rather progressive, ’80s synth record in “Hold On We’re Going Home” produced by Nineteen85 for Nothing Was The Same. Single wise it varies heavily from last week’s leak of “All Me” and caters straight up to radio ears and then some. Whatever pull Drizzy had with Francis & The Lights or The Weeknd vocally can easily be tossed aside here because as an R&B kid at heart — Drake can handle things all on his own.
Nothing Was The Same arrives September 17th.
Oh, speaking of OVO Fest, Nigel D was on hand to take more than a few photos and videos from Kanye’s guest appearance and the subsequent burying of the cold war between he and the Toronto-born rapper, Diddy and Ma$e reuniting to bring back a little “shiny suit” era Bad Boy rap into the mix, Big Sean appearing for “All Me” and more.
