To think, after all the good news the Rockets have gotten this summer the first bit of bad news they get involves them and the police blotter.

Second-year forward Terrence Jones was back home in his native Portland, OR Tuesday night when police say they saw Jones as he was leaving a nightclub walk by a doorway when he saw two homeless men and yelled at them “wake up!” before raising his leg and stomping on one of them. The victim, 46-year old Daniel John Lellerher suffered a minor leg injury that didn’t need medical attention.

Jones was charged with harassment, a Class B misdemeanor and was released on his own recognizance. His court date is set for next Tuesday. The young forward, who will be competing for the starting PF spot alongside Dwight Howard this upcoming season average 5.5 points in his rookie season which was spent mostly in the NBA D-League.
