Idea i·de·a [ahy-dee-uh, ahy-deeuh] noun – a thought or concept that exist in the mind as a product of mental activity.

It all started as just an idea back in 1993 when Shawn “Scooby” Randle, owner and creative director of Idea93 sought to turn his hobby of graphic design into a full-fledged business.

Unfortunately, the judicial system had other plans as Scooby was forced to put his dreams on hold to serve a lengthy jail stint. “I went twice. Each time was different … the experiences were unique and somewhat life building,” said Scooby.

Refusing to be just another statistic the unfaltering designer created Ingenious Designed Expressive Authentics which brings a fresh concept to the streetwear aesthetic. Taking the opposite route of today’s newly emerging lines, Idea93’s simplicity in design and underline message makes it unique. The brands logo a light bulb synonymous with new ideas serves as a source for enlightenment.

The clothing line consist of t-shirts, crewnecks, hoodies, and athletic hats for both men and women. After partnering up with Anthony Blanco the company’s co-owner and marketing director, the brand is becoming more visible thanks to local fashion events in The Scope Show and the upcoming H-Town Sneaker Summit which affords opportunities for brands on the rise.

The duo is prepping for a Fall 13′ release and will also be dropping a limited edition T-shirt that pays homage to the city of Houston in the coming months. With over 75 designs in limbo just waiting to be etched on the finest of cotton the budding brand will continue to fuse its ideals with its admiration of fashion.
