A day after J.Cole copped an apology to his lyrics on “Jodeci Freestyle”, the song’s owner Drake took to his October’s Very Own website to apologize for the lyric as well, making me look sort of foolish for believing he wouldn’t.

“J.Cole wrote a beautiful and moving apology to individuals and families affected by autism who were understandably hurt by a verse in “Jodeci Freestyle”. I share responsibility and offer my sincerest apologies for the pain this has caused. Individuals with autism have brilliant and creative minds, and their gifts should not be disparaged or discounted. This was a learning lesson for both of us, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to try to right this wrong. J. Cole and I believe that it is the right, responsible, and respectful decision to remove the lyric from the song.”

So who else needs to apologize for this? B!nk? Jodeci? In some instances I agree for rappers falling on swords for the lyrics but in others they only decide to take the plunge to save endorsement deals and the like. I guess in a world that is more politically correct than ever before, standing for something if falls in the category of unpopular opinion is frowned upon.
